Sometimes, it feels like the entire food industry’s only desire is to create the next edible thing that will make us go WTF.
Case in point: Kellogg’s NYC, a cafe where you can have the honor of paying $6 for a single bowl of cereal, will be overhauling its menu this week to celebrate Pop-Tarts.
“You’ve never tasted anything like it,” their website boasts.
Very accurate, as we’ve never thought about making nachos out of Confetti Cupcake Pop-Tarts or creating a pizza with Brown Sugar Cinnamon Pop-Tarts as the base.
But now these things exist in the world, for better or worse.
Pop-Tart creations like the pizza and the tacos run for $8 or $9. The Pop-Tart burrito is the most expensive of the food items on the menu at $12.
This Pop-Tarts burrito (yes, burrito ) is called the Nutty Caramel Banana. It’s a chopped up Chocolatey Caramel Pop-Tarts wrapped inside a sweet crpe “tortilla” with fresh banana, toasted pecans & salted caramel sauce. There’s also “sour cream” frosting, kiwi salsa verde & strawberry salsa& I’m now wondering why all burritos aren’t sweet burritos. Available this week only at #PopTartsCafe in Times Square! #eatstagramnyc #crispyeats
For those who love Pop-Tarts but want to stay as far away as possible from these weird food mashups, there are more normal items on the menu that make sense for Pop-Tarts.
There are six different kinds of Pop-Tart milkshakes that you can choose from for $12. There is also Pop-Tart tiramisu and cheesecake for $8.
Whether you are an adventurous foodie, a thrill seeker or just want to relive your childhood in the most delicious way possible, Kellogg’s NYC is the place for you this week. The Pop-Tarts cafe will operate only until Sunday.
