If youre searching for the hippest music, shopping and atmosphere at SXSW and hey, isnt that everyone look no further than this pop-up on Rainey Street.
Now that the Interactive part of the festival is over, its time to amp things up a bit as SXSWs music just gets going.
Kick things off at the In Search Of marketplace, an al fresco gift shop and boutique meets backyard music venue and bar. Its everything thats cool about Austin rolled into one. Here youll find a carefully curated selection of bespoke and artisan wares, like jewelry, clothes and leather goods, plus a killer collection of records (only $10 each!) and books. There are also classic Polaroid cameras for sale, plus the hard-to-find instant film that makes them complete.
Open now through Thursday, the In Search Of marketplace from TBS invites attendees to step inside the world of the networks hit comedy, Search Party. Illustrated posters depicting cast members like Alia Shawkat, John Early, John Reynolds, Brandon Micheal Hall and Meredith Hagner adorn a wall, while a missing persons-themed photo booth injects partygoers into the storyline. Its a little bit of hipster Brooklyn right in the middle of Austin.
Throughout the space are sitting areas of mid-century modern chairs and sofas in shades of blue and orange, where festivalgoers can charge their devices and watch episodes of Search Party with the provided tablets and headphones.
Search Party is a dark comedy that follows the story of Dory (Alia Shawkat) and her four, self-absorbed friends as they become entangled in an ominous mystery. When a college friend goes missing, Dory becomes obsessed with trying to track her down.
But if you are in Austin, make sure to stop by the space, which will be open through Thursday. Every day features something new and interesting to take in. On day one, there was a talk about female filmmakers, while later in the night, indie rockers San Fermin took the stage.
Wednesday will feature complimentary customization and embossing of leather goods with Austin-based Will Leather Goods, plus a performance by alternative trio Shaed.
Things wrap up on Thursday with a full day of events starting at noon, so stop by for some brisket and pulled pork courtesy of Franklin BBQ and stick around for complementary metal jewelry customization with Soko and more leather embossing. Synth-pop band Polia will take the stage at 6:30 and the cocktails and munchies will be flowing throughout.
Brooklyn and Austin are closer than you think.
